Unlike your run-of-the-mill beauty salon, we don’t require our customers to make appointments before treatment. We want to give you the freedom and flexibility to walk in whenever and wherever you want. Although in the event that there are customers before you, we seek for your understanding and patience that we’ll serve you as promptly as we can.
At Japan IPL Express, we keep the cost of services at a minimum without scrimping on the quality of our salon products and equipment, because we want to be affordable to everyone. It’s important to us that you have convenience at your fingertips. We also don’t believe in requiring customers to commit from the get-go, which is why instead of operating on a business model of long-term packages, we allow customers to pay according to the number of Shots™ used. No strings attached.
Well, we are. Notwithstanding our affordable price point, our ADLight™ machines are using the latest Japanese patented pulsed light technology. Our professional therapists have also been trained in-house, so rest assured that you are in good hands. All staff at our 16 outlets abide by strict hygiene standards. The icing on the cake: modern and minimalist by design, our salons exude a relaxing atmosphere.
As customers ourselves, we know how uncomfortable hard sell tactics can be. That’s why we make sure to be up front about our prices and services. What you see is what you get.
We price our services on a pay-per-use Shots™ basis. What this means is you’ll only pay for Shots™ used.
Yes, all first-time customers are entitled to 20 Free Shots™. You may use them on any targeted area to help you gauge whether to continue coming to Japan IPL Express or not. No payment required, just give us a shot. Click here for your free trial.
We accept NETS, Debit/Credit Cards and Grabpay!
All purchased Shots™ are strictly non-refundable, non-transferrable and non-exchangeable. They are also non-extendable upon their expiry date.
Services
We offer two services:
Hair Removal which destroys hair follicles, thereby preventing unwanted hair growth in the long run.
Skin Solution which tackles skin concerns such as acne, uneven skin tone and pigmentation.
Acne is caused by bacteria clogged by sebum in pores. ADLight™ is able to activate an acne control gel that kills this bacteria, regulate sebum production and the dermal cooling system soothes any inflammation present on the affected area(s).
Pigmentation and uneven skin tone is caused by overactive melanocytes producing more melanin in the skin. ADLight™ boosts microcirculation under the skin’s surface by heating the hypodermis. This action aids the absorption of active whitening ingredients to even out skin tones. At the same time, ADLight™ precisely targets darker melanin pigments on the skin. The light energy converts to heat, and destroys the pigments.

Working as the same principle of photoepilation methods, ADLight™ uses a more focused light, allowing light energy to penetrate deeper to target deep-rooted stubborn hair.

ADLight™ is 2.5x more effective* at permanent hair reduction in stubborn, deep-rooted areas. This allows an individual to experience effectiveness at retarding hair (re)growth and removing vellus, stubborn or hormonal hair.

Treatment
The most popular areas for Hair Removal treatment are underarms, brazillian and legs. For Skin Solution on the other hand, common requests are to brighten darkened underarms or to treat acne and brighten one’s overall facial complexion.
At Japan IPL Express, we define a Shot™” as one single blast of light emitted from ADLight™. How many Shots™ a person needs for each body area will vary depending on hair, skin and hormone-related conditions. We’re all unique!
Referring to our Shots™ Chart, it indicates an estimated no. of Shots required™ for each area, each session. One may require lesser or more than stated estimate as it depends on area where hair is present.
ADLight™ is capable of balancing power and cooling to keep customers feeling comfortable during their treatment session.
Our ADLight™ machines have an in-built cooling tip, which means they automatically provide a cooling effect during treatment. So only on the rare occasions when customers feel discomfort would our therapists apply cooling gel on the skin. Should this be your personal preference or you have any uncertainties, please don’t hesitate to ask.
There are no major side effects. However if you have a relatively dry skin, we’d recommend that you moisturise before your treatments to prevent redness or itchiness. Better yet, make it a good habit to moisturise every day!
Caring for your skin is such a personal matter. While most people with sensitive skin might find themselves suitable, it is best to walk in and meet with our therapists. It’ll allow them to fully examine your skin and provide a recommendation before treatment. This is especially advisable if you have never tried ADLight™ hair removal before.
Yes you may. ADLight™ has the ability to match to your skin tone accordingly to ensure maximum comfort during your treatment session.
This varies! While it is alright for some medical conditions to continue with the treatment, there are also certain medical conditions that will not be allowed. To clarify on this, you can write in with us or visit our store to check with the staff!
Session
Don’t wax, pluck or epilate unwanted hair in between sessions or 3 weeks before your first session. This is because your hair root is required to be intact for the treatment to be effective.
Yes, you may shave in between sessions, but we will advise not, to avoid ingrown hair concerns!
Before coming in for your session, you may shave on your own, but we would recommend that you leave it to our therapists. There may be chances that if you were to shave on your own, it may not be a clean shave and the therapist may end up shaving for you again! Since there’s no shaving fee or shaver charges, why not?
Generally, your Hair Removal treatment area requires an estimation of 5-8 sessions, with frequency of once every 4 weeks.
As results is subjective, we tend to look at Progressive Results. By Progressive Results, we refer to hair grows slower, thinner and finer over consistent sessions. This may differ between individuals as everyone’s hair/skin condition and hormones varies. After which, you may go through touch-up/maintenance on once every 5 weeks… 6 weeks and eventually the frequency of touch-up visits will decrease until you won’t need to come in at all.
For one to also see results, we always strongly recommend consistency in sessions, i.e. once every 4 weeks. This allows ADLight™ treatment to effectively destroy the hair follicle.
Sessions & results may vary across individuals due to hair condition and hormones.
We can’t beat science. Hair growth stage is every 26-28 days – god knows why -, and during this period, the hair goes through 3 different stages. When the hair is at its mature stage, i.e. Anagen stage, this is the best and most effective time to go through the treatment. And when this is repeated consistently, the hair cells stop whatever they are doing to grow that hair. That’s when you will see progressive results of hair growing slower, thinner, finer and eventually stop growing.
If you were to come once every few months, it is definitely not going to be effective. It’s the same as if you were to hit the gym consistently, you may see results. If you don’t, you don’t.
Aftercare
Yes! You can resume everyday activities right after treatment. Just be aware that your skin may be slightly more sensitive for up to 3 days post-treatment. Here are a few things to take note of:
- Avoid hot saunas, sun-tanning and exfoliating
- If you do Facial treatment, remember to slap on sunscreen! Protection is key!
Avoid plucking or epilating unwanted hair the moment you start the treatment! The purpose of IPL is to destroy hair follicles when it’s at the anagen stage. By plucking/epilating, it hinders hair growth which defeats the purpose and affects the effectiveness of the treatment!
You may shave in-between your sessions, but we’d recommend not to. Though shaving does not affect hair growth, it may cause ingrown hair if unwanted hair is not shaved properly.
Shots™ Bank Account
Think, logging in to a bank app to check on your money and transactions. The idea of Shots™ Bank is exactly like this!
You’re able to view your Shots™ balance & expiry date, Treatment History and Store Purchase History! Everything you’ve done in our store, it’ll be reflected in your Shots™ Bank!
Fancy name hor. You can call it “Online Account” as well.
By “Existing Customer”, we meant that you have visited/done treatments with us.
Although you’re an Existing Customer, we will still require you to do a one-time online registration – to create and link your Shots™ Bank Account to your In-Store Customer Profile.
Upon creating an online Shots™ Bank account, you will be able to view all of your In-Store activities at the tip of your finger!
By “New Customer”, we meant that you have never visited/done treatments with us before.
You may create your online Shots™ Bank Account anytime – before or after you’ve completed your first visit to the store.
