“To Live is to Give” is a motto that we embody here at Japan IPL Express. Apart from providing fuss-free IPL services to customers, we also believe in giving back to those in need.
Since 2017, we have been hosting One To Give Charity Drive yearly in hopes to encourage our community to join us in contributing to a cause they care for and make each customer’s visit more meaningful.
Every March, we identify a cause that we will contribute to.
The Right To Learn: Access to Education
In Singapore, it is compulsory for all children to attend school once they hit 6 years of age.
However, education may be a luxury for children in our neighbouring countries – such as in Thailand where schools in rural or remote areas often lack resources and even food & water can be scarce. While Thailand has made efforts in expanding access to education for their people, many children still face significant barriers to receive proper education, more so for orphans and at-risk children.
These vulnerable children may have lost their families, been abandoned, or are battling medical conditions and the deep scars of past trauma. The homes that house these kids depend on charitable contributions to continue providing essential care for them.
Buy 1 Give 1 (B1G1) x Hands Across the Water
This March, we are collaborating with Buy 1 Give 1 (B1G1), a global social enterprise, to support their cause to provide an educational opportunity for orphans in Thailand. Hands Across the Water started as a charity in response to the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami and the charity now supports over 350 children living in seven homes and projects across Thailand.
The children are living at homes set up by Hands Across The Water because they have no choice, often the result of one of three heartbreaking situations: they have no known family to care for them, they have a family member but is unable to care for them, or they are living in an unsafe environment and have been placed in their care by the police or government.
Resilience comes in many forms. For them, education is more than just opportunity, but also a tool for them to overcome adversity to build a future for themselves.
One-To-Give Charity Drive 2025
We are stepping up this year to invite all our customers to join us in supporting B1G1’s cause to send these children to school. Each customer visit would provide 1 day of school for a child, and all customers can contribute even without a purchase to make every visit count.
We envision a world where every disadvantaged child has the opportunity to thrive. By nurturing the dreams and possibilities within every child residing in different parts of the world, they can build a brighter tomorrow through education. By supporting the education of orphans in Thailand, we take one step at a time towards making that vision a reality.
